Here’s a snippet of a book I’m writing.. would you read this?

There was something different in the air that day. A heavy cloud of anguish filled the town. Clouds hovered dark and filled with rage. The rain came on suddenly, heaven’s floodgates wide open preparing for impending destruction. Nature is always the first one to know when evil is on its way.

But Iris also felt it. She was haunted by what was coming, guilty that she could do nothing to stop it. An outcast to many, Iris lived on the streets of Arrosto, where all the sick people of the land came to die. Every corner reeked of death, as it hung heavy over each home, waiting to see who it would grab next. A small village tucked between the eastern mountain range, no one ever came this far east. If they needed to cross, they preferred going the long way, around the village instead of passing through it. If they were unlucky enough to pass through the town, they ignored the horrors and swiftly went on their way, never stopping and never asking questions.

Iris preferred it that way. Their glaring eyes were the root of her nightmares, judging her humble but poor home. Then one day… a stranger stayed far too long, and everything changed
